OUR SCHOOL 2
Music
Listening to and playing a variety of different musical instruments, singing songs or just being exposed to music brings joy to the students.
The students are introduced to a wide range of adapted musical instruments that are mounted on stands and frames, bells are placed on straps and bands making them easier to hold and to play and some instruments are activated by switches. Many of the instruments have been adapted so students of varying abilities are able to access them and enjoy playing along.
Students also participate using augmentative communication techniques such as eye gaze, single switches and photographs/picture symbols, which allows them to actively participate by making choices of songs and instruments.

Art
The art program provides the students with a variety of media and materials, so they are able to express themselves as independently as possible.
Using a variety of techniques such as marble painting, spinner art, splatter art, melting wax, while using adapted equipment like scissors, switches and other means, the students are encouraged to experiment and create.
Activities based on seasons, holidays and special events are also used. During our fundraiser a variety of student's beautiful and unique art pieces are auctioned.
